YouTube, home to a vast amount of videos. Or is it a tool that the major labels are going to use as their new A&R showcases? With Billboard reporting that Esmee Denters has been signed to Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Records, will this be a start of a new trend? Or will it fail like the MySpace “Stars” who could not deliver record sales and fell flat.

If you are a band, use the tool and think of interesting groundbreaking ways to use the tool and build your brand and recognition. Think different and act different.

If you are a label, create your own tool based off the technology. YouTube has opened their API, take advantage of it. Or create your own technology to take advantage of the influx of new music coming online.
