Warner Music takes a step in the right direction

Warner Music is the first label to get it! Lyor Cohen if this was your idea, great move. If not, you listened to the right people. The music industry is shifting to an entertainment model and not a record model. The album is dead, the single is going to continue to sell and you must find new ways to do it.
Den of Thieves is a step in the right direction. For once a major record label takes a step forward and not backwards. Could this be the tipping point? Will the other labels fall in line? Who knows, but it’s a good move that will have a positive effect on the stock and the industry.
The division will produce programming for network and cable TV, DVD, broadband and mobile. Goal is to devise news ways of promoting and expanding the brands of Warner Music Group artists and their releases, though Den of Thieves plans to work with other labels as well.
The ball is in their court, and now it is time to deliver. Embrace the platforms you are pitched. The more platforms you get your content on, the more eye balls see your content. As the great Peter Merli says; “Consumer is King”. Remember that phrase and you will strive, forget it and you will go take a huge step backwards.
