Urban Network Conference - Newport Beach

This year the Urban Network Conference moved from it’s home in Palm Springs to Newport Beach, CA. The new venue provided a closer drive for those of us who are in Los Angeles. However, next year it would be nice to see the conference moved to a new venue that can handle it and wants it. Overall it was a huge success, and Big Jon was on the money with his Key Note Address.

Over the course of the weekend I did several interviews for music news outlets from around the world. From Old Media to Digital Media, we covered the entire basis on how this is going to impact the music industry, and how the artists and labels can benefit from it.

Early Friday afternoon, I did a television interview with Henca Maduro from New Skool Rules on how digital media is impacting the music business on an international scale. We touched on how to monetize the content and expand to a global audience through digital media. New Skool Rules provides the contacts and the inroads that you need in order to break in the European Market. March 20 22, 2008, I will be speaking on digital media and how it affects the record industry. The conference is going to take place in The Netherlands.

Followed by a radio interview with KhyKel Radio on how education is going to be one of the largest drivers in getting consumers, record labels, and bands to adapt to digital media. We also touched on touring and building teams who understand digital.

From Radio to Television, it was an interesting weekend of networking and interviews.
