With Summer 2007 shaping to be good at the box office, studios are striving for web visibility and they are getting it. From full MySpace campaigns to interactive websites that engage the end user, Film Studios are leading the way and adapting to the new medium. While the record industry continues to fault and step on it’s own toes. In 2007 how can you gut your digital departments and not embrace the format?

In order for the record labels to grow they must embrace digital and look to the studios for support in terms of getting their artists into films. Sony you own a record label and film studio. Why are your artists not appearing in Spider Man 3? Because you DO NOT talk to each other, nor do you get along. Grow up, and use the assets that the company has.

“With the fragmentation of media, the younger demographic is becoming more important to find.”

- Amy Powell, senior vice-president of interactive marketing at Paramount

In order for Record Labels to survive they must invest in digital. Studios got it. Now it’s turn for the Labels to get it.
