Hip Hop; The True Music Entrepreneurs

There was an article in today’s Los Angeles Times that talks about Hip Hop and opportunities they create outside of the music business. Hip Hop is a culture that embraces it�s own and rewards those who are successful. Unlike rock bands, whose fans calling it �selling out� when they make it; the Hip Hop culture embraces it. The artists who make up the culture own various companies that sell their likeness and brands through various ventures. They are making more if not as much from their ventures as they are from touring and recording.

The mobile space would not be the same without Hip Hop, as it dominates the $5 Billion ring tone business. When albums aren�t selling, Hip Hop entrepreneurs are looking for the next venture. As the music industry continues to change, Hip Hop is going to continue to lead the pack.
