Encore; The Comebacks Begin

As I mentioned back on March 16th “2007 | The Year of The Comeback” 2007 was going to be the year that the old school record guys started to come back into the fray. Now the New York Post is reporting that One Equity Partners, was planning to appoint Michael Ovitz chairman of EMI’s board, had its bid been successful.

This is just the beginning of record moguls from the past starting to resurface once again. Look for another two to three major industry executives from years past to start to make some rumblings by years end. The old guard gets digital now and they want to reclaim what was once theirs and re-build the industry back into it’s glory days.

2007 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the music industry.
